Remote residue substitution and macrocyclization preorganize a β-hairpin peptide and enhance β-catenin binding

Congratulations to Sabine Schacht on 25 years at Georg August University Göttingen! It was wonderful to celebrate this special occasion together with Prof. Lutz Tietze, whose research group Sabine first joined at our institute.

Waldemar joins us from Norbert Sewald’s group starting as postdoc, and Constantin returns after completing his MSc project with us. Both will work on peptidomimetics addressing challenging protein targets.

Thanks to the organisers for the exciting event (PTF 2026)! Congratulations to Elena Controneo for the winning the Best Contributed Talk Prize!

Janina did her MSc project in the lab of Kai Tittmann and now started her PhD research on the INCYPRO-stabilization of enzymes in our group.

Great to participate in the 17th German Peptide Symposium at the University of Duisburg-Essen. We’re happy about the opportunity to present our research. Congratulations to Anissa Haim and Ana Alcalde Ordonez for their poster awards!

Great to see what our peptides do to RNA. Congrats to the Dulin group and their amazing magnetic tweezers! Read more about our RNA binders here McLoughlin et al. Angew. Chem. 2023 and Kuepper et al. Nucleic Acids Res. 2021

Melina joins our group in Göttingen as lab technician. Moritz did his MSc research with the Simeth-Crespi group and just started his PhD research on innovative approaches towards novel proteomimetics.

Our group attended the Polish Peptide Symposium with great talks and posters. Thanks to the organisers for the exciting event! Congratulations to Felix Paulußen for winning the Award for the Best Poster Presentation.

After nearly a decade at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Tom is starting a new position at the University of Göttingen. A big THANK YOU to everyone in the group who supported our research and teaching activities throughout the years!!
